This five day tour gives you a great opportunity to see Germany’s picturesque wine-growing region.  From the medieval castles perched high upon the vine-filled valleys to the quaint towns and villages of the region.  Also included within this tour is a river cruise along the Rhine.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1 – Board our modern, luxury air-conditioned coach and travel to Dover where we board a P&O ferry for an early afternoon crossing to Calais.  We then travel through France and Belgium into Germany where we make an early evening arrival at our hotel in Koblenz, capital of the Rhineland.

Day 2 – We take a leisurely drive through the Moselle Valley to the picturesque small town of Cochem, dominated by its castle, taking in some of the pretty villages and stunning castles along the way.  We spend the morning here before returning to Koblenz to enjoy some winetasting (optional) in the afternoon.

Day 3 – In the morning we head to Boppard, where you will have some time at leisure to admire the quaint buildings and stroll along the splendid Rhine Promenade.  In the afternoon we travel to Cologne where we will board a river cruiser for a trip along the Rhine to Dussledorf.  Whilst aboard you will have the perfect opportunity to take in some sights, including the famous Loreley Rock which soars 120m above the water line. Loreley is also the name of one of the beautiful Rhine Maidens who, according to popular legend, lured navigators of this river to their dooms with her alluring singing. A buffet meal is also included.

Day 4 – We travel to Rudesheim, one of the prettiest towns in the Rhine Valley, making a stop at Loreley Rock where you will enjoy some spectacular views over the valley.  We will spend the morning at Rudesheim where you can wander through the “Drosselgasse” and browse its shops or enjoy “Kaffee and Kuchen” in one of its many cafes.  In the afternoon we head back to Koblenz where you have some free time to explore the city.  Perhaps pay a visit to the shopping area named the “Deutsches Eck” (German Corner) where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet, or visit the Ehrenbreitstein, Europe’s oldest fortress.
