Italy
Italian Lakes &
Cities
This 9 day
tour takes you to Lake Garda and Lake Combo with visits
to two of Italy’s most beautiful cities – Venice and
Verona, where you will see some of the country’s most
famous sights; the Rialto Bridge, St Mark’s Square and
the Dodge’s Palace in Venice and Romeo & Juliet’s
balcony in Verona.

Your
Itinerary:
Day 1 – Board our modern,
luxury air-conditioned coach and travel to Dover for an early-afternoon ferry
crossing to Calais. From Calais we travel to
Saarlouis/Saarbruecken in Germany where
we make an overnight stop on a bed and breakfast
basis.
Day 2 – We continue our
journey on the European autoroute system, heading
towards Lake Garda, making a stop en-route in the town
of Colmar, south of
Strasbourg. This pretty town
with its crooked, half-timbered houses and winding lanes
is not to be missed! We then continue
to our hotel for the next six nights, where we make an
evening
arrival.
Day 3 – After breakfast we
take a leisurely ride around Lake Garda, visiting the
town of Riva del Garda
whose waterfront is dominated by one of Garda's
fortresses, the Rocca before heading to the medieval
town of Malcesine which is
perched on the lake edge under the shadow of Monte
Baldo, the highest mountain in the north of the
lake.
Day 4 – Today we travel to
the beautiful ancient city of Verona, home of Romeo
and Juliet.
We have arranged a guided tour of the city for
you during which you will see the famous balcony. The rest of the
day is spent at leisure, with many fine palaces,
monuments, churches and squares there is plenty for you
to see and
do.
Day 5 – Day at
leisure.
Day 6 - After breakfast we
head to Venice where we
get to take in some of the most famous sights in
Italy; the Rialto Bridge, St Marks’s Square, the
Bridge of Sighs and the
Dodges’ Palace.
Don’t forget your camera for this part!!
Day 7 – Today we travel to
Lake
Como, visiting
the pretty lakeside town of Bellagio where we board a boat for
a trip across the lake to Menaggio, taking in some of
the beautiful Lake Como scenery. When the boat
returns there will be some free time in Bellagio. Perhaps take a
stroll around the old town or visit one of its many
gardens filled with colours and rare plants. A walk along the
lakefront is a must.
Day 8 – We depart our hotel
after breakfast and commence our return journey
travelling over the Brenner Pass, Innsbruck and the Fern Pass before making a lunch
stop in the town of Kempten. We then continue
our journey to our overnight stop Ulm/Kaiserlautern,
Gemany where we stay on a bed and breakfast
basis.
Day 9 – After breakfast we
head to the Port of Calais where we board a
P&O ferry for the short crossing to Dover. Return to your
local drop-off
point.
